FAQs

What is the Global Mission Conference (Summer Under the Son)?

The Global Mission Conference is CMS Victoria’s annual conference, open to all who are interested in God’s mission. Each year, the conference brings together rich biblical teaching and missiological insight to prepare God’s people for gospel ministry in a multicultural world. The conference runs across two full days.

Is Global Mission Conference different to SUTS? Is SUTS ending?

No. Global Mission Conference is simply the next chapter of SUTS. While the name is changing, the heart of the conference remains the same; a gathering focused on God's global mission, biblical teaching, prayer, partnership, and encouragement.

Why are you changing the name?

We have chosen the name Global Mission Conference because it more clearly communicates the purpose of the event, particularly for those who are new to CMS or have never attended before. The new name helps people immediately understand what the conference is about, while building on the rich legacy and impact of SUTS over many years.

Who is Global Mission Conference for?

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 The Global Mission Conference is for anyone who loves Jesus and longs to see a world that knows Him. Whether you are exploring mission for the first time, seeking to grow in your understanding, supporting mission through prayer and partnership, or have served as a gospel worker, this conference is for you. We welcome everyone to come, be encouraged, and grow in our discernment of God’s incredible invitation to join Him in His love for the world.

When and where is the Global Mission Conference?

CMS Vic’s Global Mission Conference will run from the 7th to the 8th of January 2027. The opening session begins at 9:30am on Thursday the 7 January and is held at Crossway Baptist Church, 2 Vision Dr, Burwood East VIC 3151.

Is there a Children’s Program at the Global Mission Conference?

The conference features an excellent children's program that typically fills up early, so we encourage all families to register their children as soon as possible.

Program groups:

  • Under 3 (no program for under 3's,)

  • Red Group (Kinder – Prep age)

  • Blue Group (School Years 1 & 2)

  • Green Group (School Years 3 & 4)

  • Yellow Group (School Years 5 & 6)

Children may also attend the main sessions under parental supervision. Please note, if your child is not toilet trained, we are unable to take them in a program.

Will there be a program or ticket option for teenagers?

Teenagers are welcome to attend the conference by registering for a teenage ticket and joining in the main sessions with the CMS community. There is no current conference program for teens. Our dedicated program for high school–aged youth is the SUTS Youth Camp, which runs the week following the conference. This 5-day camp is specifically designed for students in Years 7–12 and focuses on Bible teaching, global mission, small group discussions, and plenty of fun and community-building activities. We encourage teenagers to consider attending Youth Camp where the program is tailored especially for them.

Can I watch the Global Mission Conference online?

The Global Mission Conference will be available online for all those who cannot attend the conference in person. The online program includes a livestream of the main sessions, and access to online-only workshops. Youth Camp and conference children’s programs will run in-person only.
